Design Solution: An Abstraction of Athletics at Yale! A runner centerpiece using black vinyl clad chicken wire evoking the nets of Tennis, Volleyball, basketball, Lacrosse, Field Hockey and Soccor is the “playing field” for those sports, with a bit of Golf thrown in! Sprays of blue Delphinium evoke trajectories and speed of balls hurtling through the air. Black and white Gerberas and Micro Pom Chrysanthemums are volleyballs and soccor balls. Craspedia, yellow balls on the net and, with stems intact, blurred with white, are tennis and golf balls, speeding through the air and and at rest.
